- Uploaded content — lecture notes, slides, syllabi, and other study materials you upload to generate study packs
- Payment information — processed securely by Paystack. We do not store your credit card number, Mobile Money PIN, or banking credentials on our servers
- Communications — messages you send to our support team
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, study pack interactions, and session duration
- Device information — browser type, operating system, and device type
- Log data — IP address, access times, and referring pages
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the platform and its features
- Process your uploaded content and generate AI study packs
- Track your learning progress across sessions
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send service-related communications (account alerts, subscription updates)

AI Processing
MOTOWN AI uses artificial intelligence to generate study materials from your uploaded content. Here is how your data relates to AI processing:
- Your uploaded content is processed by AI models to generate flashcards, quizzes, fill-in exercises, notes, and podcasts
- We do not use your uploaded content to train AI models. Your lecture notes and study materials are processed solely to create your study packs
- AI-generated content is delivered to your account and is not shared with other users unless you explicitly publish it to the community library
- AI-generated content may contain errors. Always cross-reference with your original course materials
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Necessary cookies — required for authentication, session management, and security (cannot be disabled)
- Functional cookies — remember your navigation preferences and visit history (optional)
- Third-party cookies — set by Paystack during payment processing and Google Fonts for typography (optional)

- Paddle — processes payments (NGN/USD). Paddle's own privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data
- Hosting provider — stores platform data and uploaded content
- Google Fonts — serves typography. Google may collect usage data per their privacy policy
These third-party services have access to your information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for other purposes.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Specifically:
- Account data — retained until you delete your account
- Uploaded content — retained until you delete it or your account
- AI-generated study packs — retained until you delete them or your account
- Payment records — retained as required by law and for accounting purposes
- Usage analytics — retained in aggregated, anonymized form
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
